The Gulgong Pioneer Museum boasts an excellent collection of Australiana, including horse drawn carriages and Aboriginal artefacts. Every year the town also hosts the grande Gulgong Folk Festival: Gulgong. Near the mysterious Jenolan Caves, Oberon is a commercial centre for the rural surrounding producers of beef, lamb and vegetables.
